I was born and raised in MS. We didn't have desegregated public schools until I was in Junior High school, in 1967-68. There was a high school for the black kids in town, and according to my Daddy, who sat on a Grand Jury looking into conditions at the black schools, it was a well equipped, and nicely maintained facility.

I never had a problem with black kids attending the same school as I. I went to Catholic school to the eighth grade, and we always had several black kids in the school. When I was in high school, our Parish youth group participated in activities with the black Parish in town.

It was interesting though, that when forced busing began, when I was a Senior in high school, in 1970-71, we had a large number of black classmates who didn't want to be at the 'white' school. They LIKED their own school; it was a special place for them. I felt bad for them that they were no longer allowed to be there.

He may get small ratings, but he starts many, many, narratives....he started the entire Libby/Cheney slander.

Very well stated. I think reasonable people have enough evidence of the kooks who have pushed the Palin hatred too far. I think it’s getting more and more enjoyable to watch Kathleen Parker imploding like this.
