Obama’s Czars Versus Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

President Obama has appointed at least two Constitution wreckers as “czars” in his administration. Although Bill O’Reilly said on his show last night that these czars do not have any real power and are of little concern, I am not so sure. They demonstrate the dangerous journey that this president is taking us on, as he seeks to radically change our country’s 200 + years’ guarantee to “we the people” of the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The first of these czars is Cass R. Sunstein, who is heading the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Afairs. He believes that the First Amendment’s free-speech protections need to be revamped in favor of more government regulation. This is right in keeping with the Obama administration’s attempts to marginalize the anti-tax Tea Parties that have sprouted up around the country. Indeed, Sunstein believes that “without taxes there would be no liberty.” I guess our Founding Fathers were just plain wrong when they started a whole revolution over taxes and the right to protest them freely.

The second really scary Obama czar is Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, John P. Holdren. Holdren was previously the Teresa and John Heinz Professor of Environmental Policy at Harvard. He also spent 14 years on the far-Left John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

U all know what a Czar (this is Russian) means: The Russians translated the Latin word for the Emperor to the title Czar (derived from Caesar).
