Let's remove the case to that of Sacajawea's children. Would they have been eligible to run for President considering that their mother was probably born in what is now BC or Alberta, their father was a French Canadian, and they were issue of a polygamous marriage.

Recall that Thomas Jefferson, a Founder who must take his fair share of the blame for the "natural born citizen" clause, was President at the time of the Lewis and Clark expedition which she accompanied, nay "led" across the Western mountains.

We have her as a pregnant teenager portrayed on our money itself!

I will say this, provided Obama was actually born in Hawaii, and his mother's marriage to the baby daddy was not recognized by American law (due to his polygamy), then Obama is "natural born". If the marriage ws recognized (if it occurred) then we have to draw on what Jefferson "would have said" (a WWJS sort of thing doncha' know).

I’m not sure what Jefferson would have done, but today’s Supreme Court would probably rule that Sacajawea’s children are natural born along with Obama if born in Honolulu. 4 or 5 of the justices would argue NBC even if he were born elsewhere. Everything is up for grabs these days, bankruptcy law, contracts law (mortgage relief), laws of economics, laws of thermodynamics (global warming), so why not NBC law?
