You've got to be joking.

1961, That's more than two years before Kenya gained independence -- it was a colonial holding of Britain then. NO one thought of Kenya as a republic at the time. The newspaper account is simple error.

By the way have you heard of The Chillicothe Constitution Tribune? Be honest.

I showed you in black and white. You didn't click on the link? In the middle top of page. Here it is again for your convenience.

OK, I'll leave you to your world where reality is defined by the final word of The Chillicothe Constitution Tribune of Missouri, and the Nevada Palladium Times.

Here is what British Parliament said just before Kenyan independence, acknowleding they are a monarchy and not a republic on dec 12th 1963.

I should like my right hon. Friend, if he feels he can, to take up the point made by my hon. Friend the Member for Haltemprice about the decision of Kenya to remain a monarchy. Going, as it were, from Dominion status to republican status within at the most three years, and in some cases now with an interval of only a year, is an extraordinarily unsatisfactory process. I think it unsatisfactory for a number of reasons. People are now genuinely becoming confused about whether if a country remains a monarchy in the Commonwealth it is in fact a fully independent country.
