Probably because it's serving his agenda much better to hold it back. Why would he put an end to this spectacle? He gets to paint all of his critics - not just birthers, but also those who oppose his DeathCare bill, his takeover of the private sector, his disastrous foreign policy, his ambitions for taxpayer funded abortion on demand for anybody on the planet, etc. ad infinitum - with one broad brush as just a bunch of gullible paranoid rightwing cranks whose criticisms of his anti-american, anti-capitalistic policies are not credible.

Have any of them had a foreign born parent? No. Have we seen their scholastic records? Yes. Do we have verifiable histories on them, replete with past acquaintances? Yes. Do we have ANY of that with Obama? NO.

I did a quick Google search to see what came up and it's pretty funny out there...the DUmmies are demanding to see W's now. I found this on a Yahoo Answers page in response to someone asking if W was born in Mexico:
