I agree. The one thing I hold against RP is the Gardisil fiasco. He should never have gotten in the middle of that mandate. That meddling may hurt him BUT I can only expect KBH would go much further.
True enough, and IMHO, that particular item may have been a "learning experience" for Perry. He received a pretty clear message from the electorate during that dustup that Texans aren't keen on socialized meds, or socialized anything for that matter. The Trans Texas Corridor was another item I honestly had mixed feelings about that ended up flaming out because of a grassroots, primarily internet driven as near as I could tell, rebellion against it.
All in all, he has only committed a few faux pas that are all but ancient history by now. Truth be known, we Texans may feel pretty good about what we see as our ability to influence our "brand". ;^)
