Perhaps you could color-code posters who are either newly-registered or have under a threshold number of posts. This would make trolls easier to detect and reduce the waste of energy versus having to read a post first, become suspicious and then run a cursor over their name,
How about giving a short American history/government quiz at sign up? The DU, KOS, Huffpost, etc. trollsacks would flunk it everytime.
