Give Maher some credit. At least he is honest about the real perception of the Left who have, up to now, been telling us that they are only complaining about the Birthers to help save the Republican Party from self-destructing. Maher sees this as a THREAT. You betcha Bill. It is a serious threat. The truth is a very hard thing to suppress.

For the first time in recorded history, Maher is right. If Obama today provided a long-form Hawaiian birth certificate that gave all indications of being legit, most Birthers would not accept it. They are too emotionally invested in being right, sort of like Dan Rather after the National Guard docs were shown to be forgeries.
The approval ratings are a shield used by democrats to deflect their inherent character flaws. We saw it with Clinton, we’re seeing it with 0bama.
So long as his approval remains high, they can deflect this BCert issue. But when things get bad enough, more of those that “strongly disapprove” are going to be looking for a way to get this guy outa there. And the BC would be the quickest shortcut to that end.
