How about a description of it as well for those whose office PCs will not allow a connection to youtube?

Congressman John Carter said that he was prevented from using the franking privilege to communicate with his constituents unless he replaced the phrase “House Democrats unveiled a government run healthcare plan” with the phrase “the house majority (sic) unveiled a public option healthcare plan.”

Last week there was a post about Republican franking privileges being censored. Remember the “diagram” of Obamacare showing the 31 new bureaucracies? The dems on the franking office board would not allow it to be sent out because it wasn’t truthful - the rep who wanted to send it out asked “what’s wrong with it? I’ll change it” they gave no answer. Newsletters to constituents were censored if they referred to “the democratic majority’s government health plan” - the objection was the word “democratic”..
OUT AND OUT CENSORSHIP in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES!

For one hour Monday night TX Rep John Carter secured the “Special Orders” one hour to talk in the place of Republican Minority Leader John Boehner. He and several other Republicans spoke of the censorship they personally experienced. They showed the diagram on C-SPAN for all to see - I’ve seen it in e-mail several times. They also could not refer to it as “government-run health-care.”

To sum up, John Carter and others were speaking for the record that their First Amendment right was being censored by Democrats in the US House of Representatives. Where will it stop?

I saw a thread on Monday and we were able to watch it live. I only wish there had been more reps in the chambers at the time (8pm).

I don’t get it - why don’t they just ignore the democrats and speak their peace, as guaranteed by the first amendment of the US Constitution?

Who controls the franking committee/office?

The Headline isnt right.

It says “House Democrats try for Censorship.”

Looks to me like they arent trying, they already have it.

As I understand it, the franking commission (which is controlled by the Democrats) pays for communications from the House members to their constituents. If the franking privileges are withheld, the House member has to pay for the communication with campaign funds.

The Repubs need to be taking “notes” and once the tide changes, and it will, they need to employ the exact same tactics and then some; and let the rats scream bloody murder. What goes around, comes around.

What they are describing may be unethical, but it is not a violation of the First Amendment because the Congressmen can say whatever they want on their own dime. There is no requirement in the Constitution for government to fund communications between representatives and their constituents.

They should just get rid of franking entirely.

Why, yes, two wrongs always make something right!

Where did you learn your morals?

They are trying to hide this pig anyway they can...but that bird is already out of the cage.

Here is a link to the full House Democrat Health Care Plan in PDF. In Section 1233 E & F, pages 426-433, you find the part about mandatory end-of-life counseling for anyone over 65 years of age. Section 152 Page 50, All healthcare services will be provided without regard to "personal characteristcs" which is not defined within the document but is understood to include immigration status.

Section 224 b Page 125, The Secretary shall design and implement the payment mechanisms and policies under this section in a manner that — (1) seeks to (B) reduce health disparities (including racial, ethnic and other disparities).

A lot more provisions now being documented at that site. Email these links to everyone you know asking them to educate themselves and then, in turn, email them on.

Also, here's a large image of the Democratic (Obama) Health Plan chart-another Obama empty promise. This is the one the House democrats are censuring. Email these links or the image to everyone you know.

Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market and fundamental republican principle.

You’re right...this is outright war, especially on the middle class.
Some of the “more moral” folks amongst us are gonna wake up and find there is no more coffee to smell....won’t be long. Everything these rat a$$-wipes have pulled need to be poured right back onto their heads when the time comes.
