Looks like everyone got the same memo from Obama today.

Sad because American Thinker was a LOT better than National Review.

The Birther theory is likewise an artifact of left-wing squabbles. Conservatives who are tempted by the Birther theory should ask themselves why the mainstream media is now so interested in the story when they were so reluctant to give any attention to the allegations during the 2008 campaign (when, if true, they might have made a difference).
***The question answers itself, duhhh. The MSM wasn’t interested for the very reason that they might have made a difference.

Did the liberals not espouse patently baseless and nearly insane “Bush theories” for the last 8 years?

Did they not admit, that although they were lies, these “theories” would evolve into effective “memes” and therefore influence the masses and so should be disseminated [pardon the pun] liberally and willfully?

Well, turnabout is fair play.

All hail the Kenyan born pseudo-POTUS.

“Rules For Radicals” can be used against them quite easily, especially since their messiah-puppet is just as effective as the ludicrous papier mache’ ones they carry in their histrionic “protests”.

Here in the United States, the conspiracy theory that alleges that President Barack Obama faked his American birth is likewise troubling. Rather than propelling Republicans to power, however, the "Birther" theory is being used by Democrats and their media allies to isolate and undermine the opposition.

The author is spot on.

I've seen how conspiracy theories can threaten a democracy.

But ours is a republic, so quit worryin' about it.

Setting aside the "birth certificate" issue for a moment, it's the fact that the presidential candidate that promised the most open and transparent candidacy and administration in the modern era, has been quite the opposite. Beyond the two autobiographies, penned naturally by Obama himself, we really don't know much about this man. Evan Thomas, on the Charlie Rose show two nights after his "win", admitted as much. And, there hasn't been any effort on the part of traditional media to investigate anything beyond what Obama has claimed to be true himself.

Now, with the apparent group-think dismissal of the birth certificate questions, any inquiry into his college transcripts or applications, his other published or non-published scholarly works and his actual workings as a "community organizer" especially with respect to his interaction with ACORN will all go unanswered. Presumably because they'll be dismissed as questions from a "fringe" element and the like.

Obama, and his compatriots are cunning, clever and thorough. They have made it clear that they are not to be trifled with. The only saving grace is even with the daily fawning media coverage, lack of journalistic curiosity into his actual background, and near domination of the news cycle, his poll number continue to gradually slide - as if the American electorate is starting to slowly wake, despite the dulcet tones of the media lullaby.

Alinsky ploy: Marginalize and ridicule your opponent.

They -want- people to “drop it” for fear of “looking crazy”.

I prefer the wild-eyed “crazy” patriots who freed us from King George to the “keep the peace at any cost” loyalist cowards, myself.

“The author is spot on”

Another Alinsky tactic.

Keep caving to enough of his “rules” and there will be NOTHING of America left.

Great post. It is all Alinsky. The second, third and fourth tier radio talk show hosts got the memo today to discredit the birthers or else.

Venezuela has one free TV station left and they were warned.

I suppose you have seen the actual birth certificate and can personally attest to the information on it?

Wrong. The Democrats and their media allies did the same thing to Sarah Palin. They do this to anything that threatens them.

Yup. EXACTLY.

They did the same thing and are still doing it to Sarah Palin because she is a threat to them. They only attack threats and the BC issue is a threat.

Interesting... how they mention that socialist regimes rely on skeptics for a scapegoat. It seems like such a conundrum. So, how can the honest people of the world actually win against a lie machine such as this? It seems to come back to religion, doesn’t it?

My guess is that with a grand total of ZERO Republican House Members willing to go on the record saying that Obama was not born in Hawaii, that they are not all that worried.

However, yes, Obama and the DNC are keeping the BC issue out there to distract.

Inasmuch as Obama is engaged in an effort that may well result in my death at the hands of his incompetent government controlled medical establishment I see no limits whatsoever to the use of mirth and ridicule to beat his regime into the ground.

He's threatened me one too many times for it to be otherwise.

What that means is I look at the "Birther" phenomenon as just desserts for an incompetent boob. He knows all he has to do is publish his Hawaii "long form" birth certificate (which names the attending physician and witnesses of his birth) and that's the end of the story.

His failure to do so can no longer be attributed to his ignorance or inability to understand the meaning of "words" but to ulterior motives ~ e.g. that the guys who give him his lines think the dispute has value to them so no matter how bad it makes Obama look it provides a benefit of some sort to themselves.

People who don't particularly care where he was born, or if he was born at all, can and do find it curious that he is not allowed by his handlers to make the decision that defuses the situation.

Eventually the "Birthers" will not appear so ridiculous to the MSM and the faux conservatives who serve as their running dog lackeys (since they all have a difficult time keeping such stories in their minds), but Obama will continue to appear to be a sock puppet ~ and that, in fact, is the ultimate damage to Obama.

Guy doesn't have enough cojones to do what's needed to stop the discussion of the matter, or to simply tell everyone to shut up about his mother.

I think Bill Ayers wrote the wrong book ~ it's not about Obama and his shiftless, no good father, it's really about Obama and his mother who died, abandoning him to a cruel world. I'm much more curious about why he let's people drag his mother through the mud.

There is no birther theory. There is just a call for Obama to show his long form vault BC, which he has spent near a million dollars to avoid doing, and has even rescinded the orders of a soldier who sued him, in order to void his standing as a plaintiff and thus avoid having to prove up his eligibility in court.

Obama obviously has something to hide or he would have showed the BC when mac did. Birthers are not nutty, all they want is the truth about Obama. Its nutty, really really nutty, to not want to know the truth about him if you care about this country.

Wrong. They are using Alinksy tactics to try to discredit. Same thing they are doing to Sarah Palin. They do that to things that threaten them.

The publishing business is always tough and must be brutal in a recession (you can’t eat paper). If Obama is willing to throw down over $1M in legal fees (or $60K for a beach house rental), he can probably afford a few “generous contributions” to sponsor favorable press in “conservative” media.

I don’t blame anyone for taking free money in tough times - it may not be ethical but it keeps the lights on.

Fortunately, World Net Daily probably can’t be bought, so there’s that.
