Do we know who assigns the numbers? Because part of the number is a date I doubt the numbers are applied by the hospital. They would then have to chuck all the prior year stock each year. My guess is the numbers are assigned by the state in some sort of sequence as they receive them. In general those in a batch from a hospital would be together but hard to tell where one's that are separate come from.

Just a couple of days ago this same poster asserted that the listings were sent to the papers from the health department. Whatever suits the current axelrod strategy is what this poster seems to favor posting.
