Laura Ripley, who has never worked,... is unhappy because as a result of losing weight she can no longer claim disability allowance amounting to an extra £340 a month.

I have an great idea for her. Start training for a job. That will take her mind off the food, get her moving, stop the TV set watching, and help her continue to eat healthy.

Was that sarcasm?

I wasn't being serious of course. But someone who isn't too picky about their health will see a package of gummy fruit snacks as a rough equivalent to a box of fresh raspberries. The main issue though is that fresh berries go bad (practically) in hours, so unless you are buying it to eat it that afternoon, it's probably better to go with dried fruit or nuts for a snack.

I think a $1 double cheese at McD’s is something like 380 calories. That’s not bad for one meal out of three, if you are dieting.

Actually it's 490 with 234 calories from fat and zero vitamins. That's horrible as far as nutrients are concerned. At least a $1 Whopper Jr. has some lettuce and a slice of tomato ringing in at 370 calories with 189 calories from fat and a small amount of vitamins A and C.

What will -8obama do with this “fat “ problem?

He will tax everything that could possibly make you fat.

He will tax fat people.

Since a lot of fat people are poor they won't pay that tax.
Guess who will pay their tax.

I want the freedom to die from too many twinkies if I so choose!!
I don't want the government to mandate our food choices.

LOL. A bit of embarrassment for her sake, combined with a vein-popping fit of pique. Not a whit of pride or responsibility there.

Her parents need a good spanking right along with her. Not that it'd reform the lot of them, mind you, but it sure would go a ways toward mollifing my wounded sense of justice.

Oh I definately ate them soon after, I just mean that she could have bought food in bulk quatities, cooked it up, and then spent the month nibbling away at it in controlled portions.

That’s my plan when I’m on my own. Buy bulk, cook the perishables, and feast like a king.

What a life! Just waiting to die.

Sounds like my cousin. Seems there is somebody like this in everybody's family.
