Obama indicates he saw relevant information pertaining to his birth when he wrote about being 8 pounds, 2 ounces, yada, yada, yada. That information is not on the certificate of live birth, but rather would come from a hospital/midwife/or delivering attendants that are provided with a "formal"

Or he could have made it up. It's large but not unreasonable weight. Although pretty big for someone as small as Stanley Ann, and BHO Sr was not especially large or hefty either.

That seems like a healthy weight to me, even for small parents. My point was this. If the birth announcements in the HI papers at the time are real, then it sigaals the Certificate of Live Birth filed with Vital Statistics might have been fraudulent. The address listed belonged to another couple whe were not haveing a baby at the time.

So.....if the BC was faked, it would likely not have shown Obama being born in a hospital, a clinic, or by a midwife. It would be much harder to fake signatures of any official attendant and their addresses. Also, I think hospitals automatically send the BC information to the Health Dept. So a person walking in or mailing in official records from a hospital would be odd.

It would be far easier to fake a BC with a home birth. Hawaii allowed an individual or parent to vouch for a live birth at home/ a taxi/ wherever.

Now, IF Obama's memory of 8 pounds 2 oucnes is accurate from his book, that would indicate a hospital or some legitimate attendant that delivered him in a more formal setting. This type of information is not on your official long term BC. It is found on hospital records that are sent home with mom with the baby's footprints, weight, length, Dr and/or nurse's signatures at the time of birth. A home birth would not have a record of weight (at least not typically).

Now, IF Obama's memory of his exact weight is true, it would indicate he found his hospital/formal attendant's records when looking through his mom's or grandmom's "important papers" file It made an impression on him enough to include it in his first book. Typically you wouldn't remember details like this unless you had seen it with your own eyes or were told what a big deal it was.

We will probably never know, but my bet is the BC says it was a home birth (no formal setting). Why would you give a fake address to a hospital? There is no reason. If Obama's memory is accurate, he's basically saying he was born in a formal setting.

If Obama was born elsewhere and you wanted him to have US citizenship, grandma or mom could have filed a fraudulent Certificate of Live Birth to accomplish that goal. Providing a fake address might insulate O's grandma from being caught in a fraud saying he was born in her apartment.

Total speculation, but when people make things up, they leave clues. When clues about the same event don't add up, that is an indication of falsehood somewhere.
