Obama wouldn't be so emboldened right now to push for socialized medicine if he had been stopped in his tracks with the porkulus bill and the takeovers of GM, Chrysler and the banks...

I believe a corollary to that notion is that if Death Care was first on the agenda, it would now be a done deal and passed into law, and we'd now be fighting, with a good chance of breaking, the auto /bank industry takeover.

I understand all that. Health care, if enacted, is permanent. The takeovers of the banks and autos can be done away with at some point in the future when Obama is finally defeated at the ballot box, through executive orders. What Obama has managed to successfully do is convince enough fiscal conservatives on our side to enable and embolden him to spend this country further into debt while at the same time passing the costs onto generations of Americans who aren’t even born yet.
