I believe she worked in the Main Branch in Honolulu, I remember reading that somewhere, and I remember seeing something to that effect at her Hawaiian wake that was given before Obama got there for the funeral.

In a main branch, there may be an abundance of vice presidents.
I remember when I got my first business loans from the [now-defunct] National Bank of Washington, it seemed that every other person to whom I was introduced was a vice president. My then-business partner and I would joke that the only folks there who weren't vice presidents were the cleaning crew.
Like I said, I don't mean to minimize the position - it's a pretty good one - but it doesn't place one near the pinnacle of society in most larger venues.
