Birthers embarrass the Republicans (flop sweat continues...)
Guradian UK ^ | 7/25/09 | Tomuch Noise

Most political town hall meetings are pretty dull affairs. Not this one.

The YouTube clip of an irate woman waving her birth certificate in a plastic bag and telling Delaware congressman Mike Castle that Barack Obama was born in Kenya, not the United States, has become an online sensation. Castle, a mild-mannered moderate, was booed when he insisted that our president is in fact a citizen. It's been on the Drudge Report, Rush Limbaugh and just about every political website out there. The session was so embarrassing that a Castle staffer felt obliged to tell a local columnist that the hecklers were from out of state.

The birther controversy has a tight grip on rightwing opponents who argue that Obama is not the lawful president. FactCheck.org took a thorough look at the issue – and the birth certificate itself – and concluded: "It meets all of the requirements from the state department for proving US citizenship."

The website went further: "We suggest that those who choose to go down that path should first equip themselves with a high-quality tinfoil hat." But the birthers seem immune to the lack of evidence. As Michael Tomasky points out: "He can't prove he's not a space alien either."

The nutty theories didn't end with the birth certificate. Members of the crowd told Castle that global warming is a hoax and just a theory like evolution. You can't tax carbon dioxide, he was told, because "trees need CO2 to make oxygen!"

The passport issue may be a better way of proving zer0's inelgiblity. Here is a letter from a USN LtCmdr that makes a lot of sense:

SOME GOOD QUESTIONS More questions and this time, they're really good questions.

I have little interest in getting into the middle of the Obama birth issue, but yesterday Paul Hollrah over at FSM did so and he believes the issue can be resolved by having Obama answer one simple question: How could a young man arrive in New York in early June 1981 without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly, only one month later, find the money for an around-the-world trip?

And, once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York, Jakarta, and Karachi, what passport was he carrying when he passed through U.S. Customs and Immigration?

The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, as concerned citizens, they must have the answers.

The ongoing debate over Obama's citizenship can now become a very short and simple one.

Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20? A : Yes, by his own admission.

Q: What passport did he travel with? A: There are only three possibilities.

1) He traveled with a U.S. Passport,

2) He traveled with a British passport,

3) He traveled with an Indonesian passport.

Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled on a U.S. passport in 1981?

A: No, it is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department's "no travel" list in 1981.

Conclusion: When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981, he was traveling on either a British or an Indonesian passport.

If he were traveling on a British passport, that would be proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, and not in Hawaii as he claims.

And, if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport, that would imply that he relinquished whichever citizenship he had held, British or American, prior to being adopted in 1967 by his Indonesian step-father .

Whatever the truth of this matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a "natural born" American citizen between 1981 and 2008..

Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as indicated by his speech before Congress, and his disastrous spending plan that Congress has passed, the sooner we learn the truth, the better.

If you don't care that your President has not proven that he is a natural born citizen, and may be in clear violation of the Constitution, then just delete this and go back into your cocoon. If you do care, then send this to as many as you can!

No, you guys have it all wrong. Remember the birth announcement in the Hawaiian paper? No way that any”political” person could foresee in 1961 that BO would have a chance back in 1961 to become a president.

Two words - Nordyke twins.

That’s just what we’ll be doing if we don’t get our act together for the 2010 and 2012 elections.

This may have been a none issue a week ago. Now it certainly isn’t.

If by any chance documentary evidence is made public, showing Obama to be ineligible, then it will take years for the left-wing MSM (but I’m repeating myself) to recover.

A conservative politician who has asked the media to be careful about what and how they are reporting (Gov Palin comes to mind) would have an immense advantage over the low-life reporters - and they would know it!

This battle is worth the effort, this is no small point and it’s gathering a momentum of its own. If he is able to seal his authority without being challenged, then it’s over for sure. This is one battle that can determine the outcome of the war because it’s a bedrock Constitutional issue. The pursuit of truth is never a waste of resources, ever.

It is likely that failure to expose this fraud and prosecute will seal his authority and there will be no 2010. Some scoff at that but that’s the direction we are headed.

Once he can overrule everthing by decree (since he will be established as legitimate), there will be no more elections worthy of the term.

It is embarassing.
Should have been resolved before the elections. MUCH much much bigger fish to fry right now.

The Dems and their media lapdogs came after McCain over this very issue - and McCain duly handed over all documentation of his eligibility. Questions about the same issue directed at Obama were rebuffed and utterly ignored. It may be disconcerting to find that such a legal loophole exists - namely the lack of public process by which eligibility is confirmed - but it's in no way embarrassing to keep the question alive. At the very least, it may compel some states to pass very specific legislation before 2012 rolls around.

Aside from trying to influence the relative handful of Republicans and Blue Dogs to resist Barry/Nancy/Harry on things like ObamaCare, Cap And Trade, and other toxic legislation - to which larger fish do you refer, exactly? Surely we can attend that fish fry and still keep this thorn festering in Obama's side, don't you think? I mean, why the Hell not?

And it will be shown that one political party did not outperform the other in trying to cover for the Great Imposter

Darn it! It's really spooky when there's agreement like this in FReeperLand.

“You can win a battle and lose the war. Every military person understands this ... why don’t the birthers?”

What’s worse is they ain’t even going to win this battle. Only person who could have put all this together, starting way back in 1961 when little BO was sitting in a crib and going goo-goo is the Father of Darkness himself, the Devil.

So IMHO, if you are going to believe this, you might as well go whole hog and add the Devil into it, a secret society or two, witches, warlocks, and some Black Masses. That way we at least get a good movie out of it.

The latter can't be won without fighting some of the former. I asked once before, but I'll rephrase... which battles do you believe are worth the effort?
