You haven’t heard. When Gates began acting up—at the start, Crowley turned his microphone on. It’s all on tape. The Cambridge PD is said to be mulling over whether to release these tapes.
I imagine they risk being accused of some kind of defamation or some other injury to Gates if they release the tapes or it might jeopardize future legal action, so I can see why they hesitate. But if the tapes actually record Gates’s venom to any significant degree, then I think they have to release to back up the accuracy of the .pdf police report that we’ve all seen.
Releasing these tapes would make it harder for the race pimps to circle the wagons around Gates, though they won’t give up—they’ll spin whatever is on the tapes. I think their line will be, okay, okay, Gates was a jerk that night, but a white guy would never have been ARRESTED or put in handcuffs. That’s their Maginot Line of defense.

I cannot believe that the Cambridge P.D. did not handle Gates respectfully and carefully. Gates is the one who escalated the incident. He must have been drunk or on a substance. Too bad they didn’t test his BAC.
Cambridge, with its diversity and its regular and transient residents of every race, nation, and color, would never tolerate a P.D. that is not well-trained and courteous.
