Democrats are preventing Republican House Members from sending their constituents a mailing that is critical of the majoritys health care reform plan, blocking the mailing by alleging that it is inaccurate. House Republicans are crying foul and claiming that the Democrats are using their majority to prevent GOP Members from communicating with their constituents.
The dispute centers on a chart created by Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and Republican staff of the Joint Economic Committee to illustrate the organization of the Democratic health care plan.
At first glance, Bradys chart resembles a board game: a colorful collection of shapes and images with a web of lines connecting them.
But a closer look at the image reveals a complicated menagerie of government offices and programs that Republicans say will be created if the leading Democratic health care plan becomes law.
In a memo sent Monday to Republicans on the House franking commission, Democrats argue that sending the chart to constituents as official mail would violate House rules because the information is misleading.
In their eight-point memo, which was obtained by Roll Call, Democrats identify a litany of areas where they believe the chart is incorrect.
For example, Democrats argue that the chart depicts a Health Insurance Exchange Trust Fund that is simply a recipient of IRS funds, with no outflow. ... This is false.
The charts illustration of low-income subsidies is also misleading and false, Democrats argue.
Congressional rules for franked mail bar Members from using taxpayer-funded mail for newsletters that use partisan, politicized or personalized comments to criticize legislation or policy.

AB-SO-LUTELY!
If their method is a violation of rules to have Congress pay for the mailings, then the RNC or some PAC should be willing to take up the cost. Like Sen. DeMint said, “this could be Obama’s Waterloo...” This is war! Get the info out whatever it takes. If it’s not already posted, post it on a website ‘fer cryin out loud!’
The GOP leadership morons have yet to figure out that the absolute best way to get the word out is to produce a short, entertaining video and let it go viral.
Expose then on TV and all over the Internet! And when doing so, make sure to say that they are criminals! ‘Cause that’s what they are!
All of them have email lists and data bases with email addresses of those who have emailed them. There is nothing to stop them from emailing this to every constituent on their lists.
Thank you, Freedom-Loving American.
Time to turn up the heat and pile it on this marxist ideologue and all those abetting his “fundamental change”, which is the destruction of American as we know it.
Since when does "eight points" count as a "litany?"
When I first glimpsed the diagram, I thought that is must be from The Onion.
Instead of whining about it... Adapt and overcome you friggin’ useless pansies!
Yeah— they don’t know “litany,” do they?
There you go!! I am continually exasperated about the latitude RATS have in doing whatever they take a notion to and the seeming inability of the Republicans to counter, or even advance, their agendas. Like how can a huge govt funded ACORN exist for the benefit of RATS and nothing equivalent for the Republicans? I am hoping Republicans have realized they have more to gain than lose by acting equally boldly as their socialist counterparts.

Rush suggested this days ago: He said Michael Steele and the RNC should put huge ads in every large city newspaper like the NYPost did — describing in laymen’s terms what this socialized medicine would cost in taxes to each person and family of that city.
Also, with regards to this chart, the RNC should pay to have it published in newspapers and other places. On the internet and YouTube to be sure.
This enrages me that the Dems are able to prevent the GOP members from mailing out this chart. Outrageous!! I am po’d. I’ve already faxed both my Senators and Congressman this morning.
Would this be the same chart shown on Fox this morning? Think it was on Megan Kelly’s show, but it might have been F&F.
There is our own friendly media! Rush and Glen are two of them, and a number of others: Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Sean H., etc... I’m sure they’d be happy to oblige!
Excellent.
So the Democrat criticism is wrong - the only payments that the Trust Fund can make are to operate itself, which has no outgoing arrow, and for affordability credits, which are reflected in the diagram in the red box labelled "Low Income Subsidy."
So technically there should be a red arrow going from the "Health Insurance Exchange Trust Fund" to the "Low Income Subsidy" box.
If that's the best the Democrats can come up with in an attempt to block release of this diagram, it's pretty sad.
I agree, and by the way, why are they asking permission?
