I sometimes wonder if Ron Paul is willing to go to war for any reason at all (even if we were attacked). For him, ANY attempt at strengthening the military or venturing overseas to protect American interest is a waste of human life and the country’s resources.

Agreed. Paul (and Buchanan) are enamored of an old isolationist position that was no longer viable by the end of World War I. In a day of Global Terrorism, Islamofascism, rogue regimes like North Korea and Iran and Weapons of Mass Destruction, to count on the oceans to be a barrier to foreign attack is foolishness. And claiming that one can have “free trade” globally yet avoid the “entanglement” of protecting our interests militarily is to be divorced from reality.
