Ron Paul attacks Sarah Palin as 'country club' Republican
American Thinker ^ | 7/18/2009 | Thomas Lifson

What to make of Ron Paul? The word erratic comes to mind. On domestic spending, he is a righteous guardian of small government, while on foreign affairs he is a dangerous isolationist who believes the world will leave us alone if we just tend to our own knitting. And as far as Sarah Palin and her supporters go, he is a space cadet, apparently.

An interview with Politico published today contains this startling assertion from Paul:

'As for soon-to-be departing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Paul dismisses her supporters as "more establishment, conventional Country-Club type of Republicans."'

This is odd indeed, detached from reality as it is. Sarah Palin is about as far from a country club Republican as one can find. And Texas sources indicate:

And if you were to check the membership rolls of the Lake Jackson Country Club here in Texas, I'd bet real money that you would find the names of Ron Paul and his wife Carol listed as lifetime members.

The assertion of The Pauls belonging to this country club is supported by other bloggers as well. Representative Paul (also an OB/GYN, by the way) should address the question of his alleged country club membership, if he is going to throw around this label.

Could it be that Ron Paul is jealous of Sarah Palin's popular support?

He is so anti-Republican party that he felt recommended voting for Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, or Chuck Baldwin- principle be damned. For the presidential election, being anti-establishment was more important that principle.

...of course, when running himself, he has no problem keeping the Republican label if it means money coming in..

He is a comitted and dedicated American,

Yes he is, and he has never deliberately set out against individual liberty like most beltway politicians nor dedicated his life to making tax slaves out of the American people in order to promote the massively unconstitutional monster of globalism.

Those who claim he is an isolationist, are globalists themselves, and we have seen demonstrated with the TARP, numerous "free trade" agreements, and 30 years of open borders that globalism must feed American's sovereignty and wealth to the 'global economy' for it to even exist at all. And since a 'global economy' in its current incarnation is utterly opposed to sovereign nations and individual self government it should be abhorred, not promoted . In my view anyone who can isolate America from this spate of global corruption of our culture and domestic economy is a blessing to America, not a hindrance to her. Let the other nations ruin themselves and their economies, let's bring ours back to the normal healthy state that only free citizens, unfettered by globalism, can do.

Who is more anti-Republican than Arnold Schwarzenegger? Why does the republican party support him, and not a candidate for smaller, constitutional government?

Again I point out the record of the Ron Paul forum and the Blogs and now the words of Paul himself all of which are very anti-Palin.

I will give you that there are some Paul supports who do/will support Palin, but not nearly the numbers you promote.

The thing about Paul supporters which I dislike the most is something they share with Obama supporters and that is their strident belief that their man is a ‘Messiah’ and can do no wrong and anyone who disagrees with that belief is to be disdained, bullied, mock and generally dismissed as someone who sold out their rights and the Constitution.

His conclusion is probably based on his realization that she is not a Bircher or conspiracy nut. Since all who populate his planet are Birchers or have Bircher delusions, he imagines Sara to be a tool of the Bilderbergers or of the Trilateralists or Council on Foreign Relations of whatever may be the boogeyman of the week in Bircherland.

Are we all jealous of Obama????? Is that why we don’t like him?????

I sure hope that was a rhetorical question.

The Armed Forces of the United States take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. No, we should’nt retreat. We should get out of there, period. And out of Germany, Japan, France, etc. and defend our borders. Then have free trade with every nation on earth. Do you seriously believe that all of those people we’re fighting in Iraq are Al-Qaeda? Was Saddam’s army made up of Al-Qaeda members? Where exactly in the Constitution does it say we can invade a sovereign nation because we think they might be working on some weapons that we already have? You either live by the Constitution or not. Sadly, I think most people don’t want to...

No, Congress abdicated it’s responsibility to the citizens of the United States and the Constitution by giving the president authorization to use military force against Iraq. They never declared war. They don’t have the authority to do what they did.

Actually, paleoPaulie got his cowardly anti-American backside trounced in last year's primaries and he needn't think he will do any better in the future. That's the proof that actual patriots have the upper hand. There is nothing in the constitution (whatever El Ron may think) that suggests a need for magic words in a war resolution.

WAR

If that is what you believe, rest. The conservatives will do the heavy lifting in your absence.

Please cite the specific section of the constitution that attaches the word "defensive" to the word "war."

I did not think so.

Oh, and you seem to be a George McGovern soundalike with the "Blame America" first, last and always nonsense. Neither the nonsense nor McGovern nor you resemble conservatism.

Al Qaeda hit the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. Kill each and every Al QWaeda love slave wherever he, she or it is found. AND I don't give a rat's patoot what their delusional excuses are. The Islamofascists can sit down, shut up and practice the actual Islamic religion quietly and peacefully or they can be erased. Time for a crusade and to actually use the word "crusade." The Islamonutcases have yet to get over the weak efforts exerted by Western Civilization in the medieval version.

Let's give paleoPaulie's little Middle Eastern fan club lunatics something to REALLY remember us by.

Its says “declare war”. They didn’t do that... And tell me how many members of Saddam’s army, especially in the first gulf war, were members of Al-Qaeda. Blame America first - get real! I blame fascism and big government first. That’s what a real conservative does.

What to make of Ron Paul? The word erratic comes to mind.

Unstable. Unhinged. Stoned. Deprived of female companionship.

These words come to my mind.

Thanks, for the post.
and as you say, spot on as regards the finances and financial fates of our nation...give speeches and promote conservatie principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disaster and gain great political capital in the process.

agree and this is why; LIBs, RINOs & CINOs...have so much hatred for her, She "rocks the boat" too much.
those (D.C.) Congress-critters / Bureaucrats (really) hate change, Zer0bambi IS NOT Change.
He's just speeding-up the Progressive Liberal (Fabian) *Marxist/Leninist* Policies re-started by LBJ.

Paul is definitely jealous of Sarah, and he’s got lots of company by people of all political stripes throughout the entire world!

You can see / hear it, in the $hrillest of his (& supporters) speeches.
....really gone bonkers...not as much as Myth / Mittens'.
