Israel on Sunday rejected a U.S. demand to suspend a planned housing project in east Jerusalem.....Israeli officials said the country's ambassador to Washington, Michael Oren, was summoned to the State Department over the weekend and told that a project being developed by an American millionaire in the disputed section of the holy city should not go ahead....
On Sunday, Netanyahu told his Cabinet there would be no limits on Jewish construction anywhere in "unified Jerusalem."
"We cannot accept the fact that Jews wouldn't be entitled to live and buy anywhere in Jerusalem," Netanyahu declared, calling Israeli sovereignty over the entire city "indisputable."

The summons came following a complaint by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who reportedly told the Americans that allowing Jewish housing in the neighborhood would shift the demographic balance in east Jerusalem.....
According to the High Court of Israel, Jews, Muslims, and Christians alike can purchase land in all parts of the city of Jerusalem ....

Another reason why we should cease funding this region. We have spent hundreds of billions of dollars and have made very little, if any, progress towards a lasting peace.
When you buy gas, chances are you are buying Arab oil. You fund the Arabs who turn around to use the funds to buy American interests to diminish our power and increase theirs. Is that the funding you mean?
