It's going to take time to replace the Republican party (as they will simply be absorbed into the Democrat party for the most part). It may take a very long time until their replacements can amass enough power to start to serve their constituents as they were meant to, unlike our current ‘rulers’ who only care about themselves, but you have to start somewhere, and the time seems to be now.
Sadly, it is common sentiment among most Republicans and even conservatives. It used to be my sentiment -- it was for years. It was why I voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger. THEN I learned.
In picking the "lesser of two evils," what appears to be the lesser may very well be the greater evil in the long run. That's what Arnold taught me, and if I had it to do over again, I'd rather see liberal racist Cruz Bustamonte win because, while he would have done as much or more damage to California in the short run, in the long run Arnold has done more. With his kind of big government liberalism, the GOP has been virtually eliminated as a worthy alternative to Democrats for voters who support liberals and then wake up and realize their folly.
I think it was Churchill who said: "If you're young and conservative you have no heart; if you're old and liberal you have no brains." It means that as people get older and wiser they seek the alternative of limited government conservatism. RINOs sabotage the GOP as providing that alternative, hence the damage they do is likely worse than what elected Democrat liberals dish out. Victorious Democrats damage the Republic today; big government Republicans sabotage the Republic in the future.
