Borrow money from illegal aliens....
And Texas is one of the more solvent states.
Shame on you for firing all those excess workers instead of paying them to sit around in the lunch room playing cards...

This is a completely different spin on the situation compared to the earlier article which stated that the state had not had time to implement IT (programming) changes to support the extended benefits.
They all voted for change, so how is this for a change. The honey pot went broke.
bottom line is GET A JOB!
Unemployed for more than a year?
Sounds voluntary to me.
But, but I thought Texas was doing so well???????
It’s not “Obama”; it’s “Nojoba.”
Deport illegals.
Obama didn’t carry Texas!
Bottom line should be get a government in where the people believe in what can be done. Right now, there is a govt that wants to squander what it has, incur more debt and dump more taxes on the people.
Who in HADES ever asked for that?
10% unemployment? We already blew past that. We are rapidly heading to 16 to 20% unemployment and possibly before the end of the year.
Deport illegals. Use www.numbersusa.com or org to stop amnesty with free letters you can fax congress with.
I know it can be tough when out of work but when a man (or woman) needs to have some cash to keep afloat with, why do I see HELP WANTED in so many businesses? Yes, mostly service oriented businesses but it’s work nevertheless.
I have friends that have waitressed and waited tables and did very good. They have a personality and serve people with a flourish which generally came back in the form of good tips. My closest Aunt was a waitress all her life. House paid for, always drove a nice car, bank account(s), go figure.
Then there was the son of a friend of mine that has his own RV repair business, he was ALWAYS looking for dependable help. He told me they might show up and then again, they might NOT. Good grief, no wonder they’re “unemployed”. RV repair centers CHARGE MONEY for their work, have you noticed? He said if the employee would show up and do the work he would find that he could earn a very good living. Some skills necessary, carpentry, metal work, plumbing, wiring, etc., you never knew what might be the problem.
Or are these jobs “beneath” too many people? What’s the deal? In Texas we have had a roaring economy throughout the Bush years, don’t tell me any different, I haven’t moved from my native state at all.
And I considered Texas as my next nation of residence.
Just damn!
Screw this - I’m moving to Cali! I still have a job, still making bills, still enjoying life. But now that i know about this! I’m leaving for spite! Damn you Red state!
