Actually, MSNBC may be deliberately using the wrong name to avoid a defamation lawsuit.

If Jim were to sue, they could claim they did not defame “jim robinson” but defamed “jim thompson” and thus are not guilty.

Oh, how novel... A supposed "news channel," purposely spreading incorrect "news" and information. Well, we have all known that NBC "news" has taken all sorts of liberties with the truth for many, many years...

So they're either lying or incompetent. Gotta love it!
