Can’t think of many things worse than raising taxes during a deep recession. Didn’t that happen during the beginning of the great depression?

Yeah, dems, kill those who truly create jobs. Killing the golden goose. FRiggin brilliant. Too bad about half the population is so stupid and/or brainwashed, they’ll go along with this.

Just how damaging to small business is a 1-3% cut in income?

Going to happen anyway, when the bush tax cuts expire.
Then add all the new taxes... Then it will be 1928 all over again.

My wife has a part time job keeping the books for a local small business. Well about 4 hours one day a week she does this. They have 8 employees and are struggling to keep the doors open. The owner is doing everything he can to keep from laying off anyone but he said that if any of the taxes the democrats want get passed the doors will be closed he won’t be able to make it. Guess this is what they want.

The Democratic Party. The Party of Unintended Consequences. I do not completely agree with that, I think there is certainly a component that is fully intended. They know full well this will kill jobs, and make tens of millions of people more dependent of the governmeent for subsistence.

This has got to be stopped. I have been on the phone to my reps in both houses. I told them that if this was not good enough for them, then it isn’t good enough for me. So far I have got positive feed back from both Senators and my rep in the house.
To: ex-snook
Very, because they’re twisting the language again, using “income” when they really mean “gross revenue” — which would wipe out 90% of most small business profits.

I simply don’t understand why “they’d” want more people dependent on government. Who is going to pay the bills?

"As a result, the roughly five percent who make more than $200,000 a year would be hit with the extra tax."
Those businesses who are actually making $200K these days are probably those who were making over $1 million a few years ago!!!

the DNC will not like this article!
They hope to shut down more than just one million private sector businesses.

Taxing the “rich”...women, minorities hit hardest. Somehow I don’t think the AP is going to make that connection—at least not willingly.

Small Business is probably the most “solid-Republican” voting bloc around. The Dems are certainly picking a fight with this proposal.

Government control over every aspect of our lives can be dramatically altered by pressuring Congress critters to pass The Fair Tax Act(HR25/S296) that will replace all federal income taxes with a national sales tax and abolish the IRS. Fair Tax ping!

Think about the difference between having a business and not having one. Now realize the taxes the Obumble is dreaming up would actually increase business costs more like 30 percent.
