I believe it is very important to carefully read about the American Revolution, specifically, details about what led up to the first shots being fired, on April 19th, 1775. During the preceding weeks, what actions were taken by each side?
PS. It was all about firearms, the British trying to seize them; Colonials trying to prevent that, without violence.
Firearms and cannon represented Colonies ability to defend themselves from bad (immoral/godless/foreign/corrupt) law. When government creates or enforces bad law upon citizens, there is a fundamental breach of relationship; in this case, the original contract of the US Constitution.
