points to make:
- some nasty comments about Obama’s children by a few anonymous posters on a thread, which was quickly deleted, cannot be compared to the ugly and mean-spirited treatment media commentators and late night comics gave over the airwaves and in the newspapers to Palin’s children
- some, but admittedly not all, can be attributed to hate-filled leftwingers making anomymous posts on FreeRepublic, for example Chris Perry
- in general, children of political leaders should be out-of-bounds, at least where those children are minors or do not put themselves out there in the public debate. The mainstream media sometimes applies a double standard to Republican vs Democrat children. See Chelsea vs. Bush twins. Palin children vs. Obama children.
Lets not forget that Ashley Biden was captured doing lines of blow on camera and nobody cared!
