Liz Cheney open to political run
Joseph Weber (Contact)
The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that running for political office is on her horizon.
"It's something I very well may do," said Elizabeth "Liz" Cheney, a lawyer and State Department appointee who has worked on two Republican presidential campaigns.
Ms. Cheney, 44, has emerged as one of the strongest defenders of the effectiveness and legality of Bush-Cheney policies on enhanced interrogation methods. More recently, she and her father have become two of the most outspoken critics of President Obama's position on terrorism and other national security issues, which has led Republicans to consider her a strong candidate for national political office.
Ms. Cheney told The Washington Times America's Morning News that recent new reports that her father ordered the CIA to hide information from Congress and that a government probe could follow appears like political cover for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who have accused agency Director Leon Panetta of lying.
"It gets more and more appalling everyday," she said. "I think they're very worried about Speaker Pelosi."

Anyone else notice how the presspukes fawn over Meagan McCain and ignore Liz Cheney? Gee...I wonder why that could be.
is she the lesbian?
She could focus on a woman’s right to have 4 or 5 kids and a career at the same time—which she has done. “
I guess that would answer my question. The “other” one is the lesbian....
2010 time to clean house.
I loved how her father easily dismantled his counterparts in the 2000 and 2004 “debates”...I could see her doing the same thing.
‘Is she the lesbian?’
Is that important to you? do you not think there are gays and lesbians in Congress already?
Liz needs to make herself very familiar to the American public before the media can spin their own view of her in an attempt to ruin her politically - as you know they will do! They'll start with her name, which the media have already done their best to turn to poison.
Conservatives need more people like her (not just women - but it helps). On the other hand, a two-women ticket (Palin/Cheney) is just a little too "new" for most people to accept. Liberals would go for it, if it were two liberal women. For now, face it, there's gotta' be a man somewhere on the ticket, or too many people will think it's some kind of novelty or a political stunt (you know, like John Kerry running for President . . .Oooops! He did . . my bad!).
Damn right it’s important.
I wouldn’t trust a fag man or a lesbian with advancing any aspect of the conservative agenda, if given the choice.
As far as I know, Larry Craig is the only out member of Congress on the GOP side.
And that’s one too many.

I don’t know all her positions, but from what I know at this moment I would heartily support her and would hope she would run and run hard!
So what’s open in Virginia? I believe that’s where she lives.
What Congressional district is she in?
I’d sign up to work on a statewide campaign for her. Maybe she could run for Webb’s senate seat in 2012. I am not even convinced he will run again.
“Cheney/Palin or Palin/Cheney, preferably in 2012”
Boy would that cause some democrat bowels to move.........
And too far outside the traditional ‘experience’ package. I’m fine with her running for Congress in 2010 and having Palin name her SoS in 2013, however.
I’d like to see her win Webb’s senate seat in a few years!
Not electable...
That would be awesome!
I love it! Run, Liz, Run!
No.
