...I disagree.
Just as a catfight doesn’t necessarily involve cats, so too a bitchslap doesn’t indicate the recipient is necessarily a bitch. It’s an action, not a description.
Words evolve, becoming more and more acceptable as time rolls on, and bitchslap is one that has done so IMO.

As reported on the Cosmic Iguana website (admittedly, not the New York Times), “A DNS check reveals that “www.moveamericaforward.com” is being run by a Public Relations firm out of San Francisco: Russo Marsh & Rogers... Russo Marsh & Rogers is a political public relations firm with strong ties to the GOP. Sal Russo, a principle in Russo Marsh & Rogers, served as advisor for the “Recall Grey Davis” campaign.” They go onto reveal that after this was pointed out on their site, the DNS registration was changed to the name Howard Kaloogian - a Republican senatorial candidate! This was the same Howard Kaloogian who lobbied to have CBS not show the miniseries The Reagans earlier this year. These guys also run the FreeRepublic.com website, as well as the DefendReagan.org website. They are paid political hacks, Republican party members, and they are pretending to be a “grassroots political organization.”
