I thought this was a very insighful non attacking piece. I agree with a lot the writer has said about Palin. I have had high hopes for her, but she continually plays into the hands of her detractors. I don’t know what she stands for anymore and although she has been treating horribly by the mainstream media, she is her own best enemy.
My advice to her? Raise your kids, stay involved and get out of Alaska on occasion. Come back in 10 years when you know the issues better then you know about David Letterman’s idiotic opening monologue.
Go ahead and bash me all you Palin lovers, but I agree...She is NOT the answer.
Can you give specific examples from her speeches, written political statements, etc. that demonstrate this dreadful lack of political and general intelligence? Can you point out where she made mistakes in running the state of Alaska that are a result of the complete ignorance you accuse her of? Maybe some examples from her previous executive positions, including the non-political ones? I’d wager her resume is a hell of a lot more impressive than most of the people posting on this thread, so lay out your evidence of her intelligence deficit and lack of experience. And, why is it that the inexperienced, dumber than a post community organizer in the White House was never told that he should “stay home and raise his kids”?
I’ve never seen conservatives look so backward and hypocritical about a candidate. Specifics and facts aren’t needed when trashing Sarah Palin I guess. Just the fact that she was the parent who actually gave birth to the children is enough I guess. You’d think the woman was as stupid as Joe Biden, the way people go on about her. Fortunately, FR doesn’t seem to be representative of the level of chauvinism in the Conservative party. Or maybe it’s her clueless, uneducated ignorance that attracts thousands to her rallies and speeches.
I’m not a huge palin supporter, either. I just hate to see rabid criticism launched at someone without a shred of evidence to back it up.
Here’s one conservative who totally agrees with you. Palin has been behaving like a publicity-seeking celebrity since the campaign ended. Her announcement that she was quitting the governorship made no sense. She didn’t want to be a “lame duck” finishing out her first term? Fine. Finish your first term and run for a second term. That’s how you avoid being a lame duck in politics.
How is someone who quit her job only halfway through it going to go against Obama who will have finished one term as president in 2012? Supposing Obama is challenged by a Democrat for the nomination in 2012. Let’s say his ratings are in the toilet and even the Dems don’t want him. Who’s the logical Dem candidate then? Hillary, who will have served in the Senate and as Secretary of State. A quitter who couldn’t even last out her job in Alaska and who’s spent the interim selling a book and doing the talk show circuit is going to beat that? Dream on, little children.
