Mom or dad always had our bag lunches ready to go when I was in grade school. In High School, parents bought a monthly meal card and we ate whatever the school was cooking. It wasn’t bad. The favorite was some pot roast and potatoes under gravy with a wedge of lettuce under thousand island. I loved it on the days that combo was served. Milk and dessert included
Nowadays since it’s all “free” the kids get crap.

all thru school...I was in the “football” class so lunch was always before 5th period, football practice was 6th period.....meanin....we were fed all and I mean all that was left over..........small town football bliss
