It is a coloring dye used to stain micro-organisms on laboratory slides.

Very poisonous.

I believe the toxicity of New Methylene blue C18H22N3S:SCl ZnCl2 may be diff from methylene blue C16H18N3ClS. Our lab always uses New Methylene Blue for RNA.
