Shorthaired dogs shed too - just shorter hair that gets stuck in everything.

Funny thing is that my Lab with the conventional triple coat hardly sheds at all -- she blows her fluffy undercoat in April, the rest of the year she hardly drops a hair. But my Black Lab with the slick single coat (a Lean Mac trait) sheds 24/7/365 and in copious quantities. It's too short to spin, but maybe I could stuff a sofa . . . .

I got Labs instead of Goldens because of the short coat, but you still have to hit them occasionally with the Furminator and vacuum a lot.

I’ve just gotten used to living with clouds of soft white fur everywhere, and I don’t wear black. I swiffer constantly and that new Pledge lint-roller thingy zips right over the upholstered furniture.
