We do have to be like them in one way at least. We have to develop an emotional appeal, critical thinking doesn't motivate like emotion does.

Let me illustrate the problem. If someone is hungry our emotional response is compassion to feed them. That is the Democratic line in a nutshell. A society is measured by how it treats the weakest and poorest members.

We need to come up with an emotional response to dealing with the needy (or ill, or out of work, etc.). Until we come up with that visceral answer we will be marginalized and defeated.

Bingo.

Libel-als have the lock on liberal emotional appeal (rage, anger, loathing, etc.)

We need to frame the conversation in conservative emotional terms (humor).

Just yesterday was wondering who would be president today if Joe-the-plumber had said something like:

"So, Mr 0bama? Let me see if I got this straight, you think it's perfectly fair to use the full weight, might and power of the entire US government to seize money at gunpoint from people who worked very hard for it and earned it, to give to people who didn't lift a finger (except, perhaps, to vote for democrats), after skimming off most of it for your own pet projects?

That's your idea of fair???

Really???

Fair???

(wild laughter)(wipes eyes) You ARE kidding, right? Right???"

I bet 0bama couldn't stand up to 1 minute of much deserved public ridicule.
