Even if the Uighurs got their own state, why would that be a bad thing? They were forcefully assimilated into China.

We didn't conquer Dearborn and try to wipe out the local language, culture and religion. These are two totally different situations.
Muslims are playing the same victim card in Russia, Thailand, the Philippines etc. It is all a con to create Islamic states within. Except in the case of Russia, none of those Muslims were conquered by the country in question. Again, different situations.
And though I don't have any sympathy for the actions of Chechen terrorists groups, I am not a fan of Russian imperialism that has forced various peoples to live under the thumb of Moscow. Or do you think the Latvians shouldn't have been allowed their independence?
Of course it would be a bad thing. It is emboldens sharia loving Muslims across the world.
