Thanks for posting the nice picture. Here's a bit of history for our hateful ignorant friends.

My feeling is that Islaminaction is just a little too paranoid about Islam which, all squabbling aside, is the major (in terms of numbers) religion most closely related to Christianity. Americans can be convinced to act against their own interests in the interest of fair play. I don't think the Chinese can be persuaded to do so - to them their parochial interests (the maintenance and expansion of Chinese empire) and fair play are one and the same. The unfortunate thing for the Uighurs is that they are under Chinese rule.

Turkey and China enjoy a close relationship which no mogwai can derail. Turkey has already sent her regrets and condolences, and has made clear her hopes for the prosecution of those responsible.
