Let us conduct a thought experiment.
Suppose that you had Reagan's reincarnation just completing his second term as governor of a state. What do you think that the Left-Wing Attack Machine and State Run Media would do to him?
On the other hand, Palin and Reagan are indeed an Apple and an Orange. But some of the "Repubicks" are half-right. We can't keep pining for Ronald Reagan to return. But we need a new leader who embodies his principles yet is relevant to today. And Palin can go places that Reagan could not.
I’ve repeated it often enough on FR lately I might as well make it my tagline.
“The amiable dunce is back wearing a skirt and high heels.”
Times change. Today, Reagan would be attacked as RINO by freepers (he advocated and gave amnesty and paved the way for the massive illegal invasion). He also sold advanced weapons to Iranian mullahs (”contra-scandal”) and did not revenge the Iranian hostage taking when he took office.
So even Reagan wasn’t “the Reagan” we now try to believe. No candidate is perfect and no candidate should be worshipped as the Messiah.
