No matter what she does, her army of apologists will make excuses for her and lash out at those who dare to criticize her by accusing them of being liberal elitists who are threatened by her sheer awesomeness....

Yup. It's amazing how many Freepers fit this bill.

And just what is it Sarah Palin and I need to apologize for?

For saving John MeCain from the most lopsided, embarrassing presidential loss in US history?

If anyone wants to get technical, when Reagan was Palin's age, he was a liberal shifting towards conservatism but his core belief of limited federal government is one he and Palin strongly share.

Will she write, speak, walk and talk like Reagan? No. Reagan did not strive to be like others and that's what brought him success. That is Reaganism. There is no Bushism or Clintionism , at least not in the positive sense.

Palin will forge her own path, on her own time, in her own way; and when God opens the door of opportunity, she will run right through.

And Long after the dust settles, Palinism may be the standard.

And she's easy on the eyes.

she has 3 years on how to deal with the media. If she doesn't figure out her own way of dealing them even I will not pay much attention to her and I think she is our greatest assets today.

There are ways to go on the offensive against the media Reagan prove that.

American Spectator, like the National Review, is no longer on my list of annual subscriptions to pay.

Agreed. Palin isn't Reagan.

Palin wouldn't have appointed a RINO her Veep.

2012 is a long way down the road, but I think it’s doubtful that Palin will be able to rehab her image for the electorate that exists outside of FR in time for any sort of serious run at the Whitehouse.

Nobody cares about any other Republican. Should she run as an independent, the Republican would finish third.

Sarah Palin ,like Reagan, Loves America and would never try to tear Her down or appologize for this great country!
She under stands everyday hardworking Americans. Sarah is far better than the turncoat dufus who is squatting in the oval office “presently”!

[C]omparisons do a disservice to Reagan, who not only served two full terms as governor of California...

Reagan started his first term as governor in '67 and then he ran for president in '68.

It was only because Reagan lost in '68 that he served two full terms.

And your above nonsense(LOL)appears in your very first sentence. Why on earth should anybody read passed it?

Last October, an ABC/Washington Post poll found that only 35 percent of Americans thought Palin was qualified enough to be president, yet now her boosters expect us to believe that an additional nine months in office is all she needed to assauge Americans' concerns, allowing her to resign and prepare for a presidential run.

We just elected a former community organizer to become president. How is she not qualified to move up to this office? I like Sarah Palin well enough, and would definitely vote for her if she were the GOP candidate. I'm not a smart enough guy to know if this latest move by her is a smart one, but we'll know in the next couple of years.

Reagan called us back to the principles and philosophy understood and articulated in our Declaration of Independence.

He understood and communicated, as did Lincoln, that ideas have consequences, that the American Constitution's heart and soul were embodied in the words and ideas of the Declaration, and that the light of liberty in the world can be extinguished if we do not hold ourselves to those ideas.

As well as Palin communicates, if she will devote herself to a study of the writings of the Founders, of the meaning of the words of the Declaration, and if she will prepare herself to articulate those ideas as Reagan did, then she will, indeed, fulfill a "higher calling" for our time.

The Founders believed that "Divine Providence" directed their efforts. If Providence still has a purpose for America, then perhaps a leader will be prepared to deliver it from its present wanderings in the wilderness of tyrannical government control.

Given what sort of idol we seem to have made of him, these days even Reagan is no Reagan.

Michael Reagan said Gov. Palin is the closest to his father he has ever heard. I think Michael, who adored/adores his father, would know better than Philip Klein.

But Mitt Romney with 3 years as governor(he bailed the last year and left Kerry Healey to manage his mess, I know, I lived there) is perfectly qualified.

If she can steer clear of Anthony Kennedy and especially Sandra Day O’Connor, she could out-match Reagan.
