Gee and the Democrats called the Bush economy with 5% unemployment he worst in decades. Pray God that the American people wake up and start cleaning out Congress in 2010 and get Obama out of the White House in 2012 or the US economy will start to look like Zimbabwe’s.
Good! 14% unemployment and $5/gallon gas might finally wake the Sheeple up to take their country back from a bloated, self-serving, corrupt Fedzilla.
The real story is the military reaction.....when the first appearance of food and other supply shortages begin they will certainly first send in the National Guard to enforce civil passivity.
How far the troops and their commanders will go to kill us is the salient concern.
Politically speaking, even if the number were 14 percent, only the unemployed themselves would know, and they are pre-committed to Obama. Just as in 1937, they were precommitted to FDR!

If congress doesn’t start reading bill before they pass them the unemployment rate is going to hit 20% or more. Now that the democrats have a veto proof majority in both houses, this is directed at the democrats.

An estimated 2 million individuals who work directly in the health insurance industry, plus the ripple effects on sellers, agents, and suppliers to that industry, are in the cross-hairs of Obama’s “vision” for healthcare “reform”.
We have a crisis in the USA, but it’s not due to past administration’s policies. We are clearly endangered by the Obama administration in concert with a democrat dominated Congress and a criminally complicit so-called MSM promoting Obama’s socialist agenda.
I believe that the National Guard reactions will be vastly different from state to state....depending on the politics of the region (blue or red)...

Companies continue to make massive cuts. I actually read one Forbes report where economists were “concerned” that we might surpass 1983’s 10.8% unemployment rate.
Hell, I’m “concerned” we’ll hit 15% unemployment or worse before this is over.

I'm not skeptical of the possibility of 14% unemployment, but I must admit I AM a bit skeptical of that phrase "...direct, linear function...."

“Stimulus” is based upon the superstition that government borrowing and spending creates “demand”. In reality, it does no such thing. “Stimulus” is like trying to raise the level of the Hudson River by dipping out a bucket of water, walking five feet downstream, and pouring it back in. The only difference between the Bush and Obama plans is that Obama’s bucket is bigger (and will create more debt). Ironically, the July 2 jobs report prompted calls from leftist economists for Obama to go back to the river with an even bigger bucket.
While doing nothing to boost demand, Obama’s “stimulus” will depress PBI, and therefore employment. This is because the “stimulus” plan requires selling an additional $787 billion in government bonds. The money to buy these bonds will have to come from somewhere, and much of it will come from people who would otherwise invest in starting or expanding businesses. Indeed, the bonds will have to be priced so that this risk-free investment is more attractive to investors than their other alternatives.
In the fourth quarter of 2008, the Federal government ran a deficit of $303 billion (and therefore had to sell $303 billion of new bonds) and business investment fell by 21.7%. In the first quarter of 2009, the Federal deficit was $650 billion and business investment fell by 37.3%. The economy is being forced to invest in Barack’s Bailout Bonds rather than in businesses that create jobs.
Virtually everything the Obama administration wants to do will have the effect of increasing unemployment. As bad as joblessness is now, be prepared for it to get much, much worse.
America this is your problem, your government, your choices. Blame will not feed your family. It is time to end the progressive rampage on our country and simply stop this congress and its miss guided administration. Stop congress from passing anything for this destructive President. Stop freeping. Tweeting, blogging and start protesting and holding your local leaders accountable for there spending policies. Stop them, stop them stop them. At 14% unemployment the Government will become insolvent at all levels and our recession is then a depression.
But, you can not blame a guy who has never earned a dollar in his life or made any kind of tough decision with circumstances. This incompetent president will always make the wrong choices. This narcissistic President will never admit fault or failure or see the destructive path he has taken.. See him for what he is not. He is not a leader, he is not a problem solver he does not have our countries best interest at hart.
Our first mission should be Boycott all progressive media and the companies who support Obama’s propaganda. We need a media that is driven by fact and holding politicians accountable at all levels regardless of party. We need to remove any person in congress who has been shown to support any of the recent anti American destructive Obama policies. It is time to sever notice the progressive minority who has sabotaged our our American way of life. His media propaganda will continue to feed the country with divisive race and hate policy. Your time is over your days are numbered your gig is up any company who supports MSNBC, CBS,ABC,NBC should be informed of your choice to no longer buy there products. Our majority of hard working Americans who still have a job has the power to end our loss of a free media whose only mandate is to keep all politicians honest and accountable. To report fact that has been vetted and confirmed to Fact. If they can not provide this service thay should be labled an Obama Media Zar and let the chips fall where they may.
