My thought is that he knew this was coming, and is, conveniently, not there to make comments on her resignation.

Sarah is the one politician that echoes Rush more than any other. Her connection to him, in any way, right now would be a distraction.

Ok, I just "viewed" and "heard" Gov. Sarah Palin's resignation speech. I wanted to see it and hear it wih my own eyes and ears, BECAUSE, I have read here on FR and from 'conservatives' out there , including 'conservative' talk show hosts tonite in Phila that it was a "rambling" and "incoherent" speech. Well, I have one simple thing to say.

Anyone who characterizes her speech in that fashion, is 'WISHING' nothing but BAD THINGS on that woman. PERIOD!

ZERO only WISHES he could give a speech like that without his OBAMAPROMPTER in front of his nose!

CASE CLOSED!!!

Do you think there will be some collaboration going on during Rush’s vacation?

Real world.. best bet is yes... their talking... Rush has been really the point man on the conservative moment, holding the line this last six months... but he not a politician and he tell you that up front... he knows there needs to be a political leader, a candidate leading and we all know that Sara

In broad terms, in the new conservative moment push... Rush takes the Bill Buckley roll...to Sara as Reagan

One of the things that bugs me most about politicians is that they run for office ON THE taxpayer's payroll!!!

Both Obama and McCain ran for POTUS and were rarely in the senate (GOOD!) and never missed a paycheck.

When I am in charge, politicians won't be able to raise re-election campaign $$$ until a year before election day. They spend too much time raising $$$ money for themselves and their friends. I would make it unlawful to give campaign $$$ to another politicians. That is not what people gave them the $$$$ to do.

Pit Bull my A__. She is a “Mad Momma Bear”.

Pity those who chose to slur her children should she have an opportunity to punish them. That could happen.

However, her decision may backfire. She has only been in office for two and a half years and, before that, her experience was minimal to say the least. She needs all the tenure she can get. And, the national media has painted her, unfairly, as a flake. Her critics will doubtless use this resignation to amplify that image and call her erratic and undependable.

It is a bold move on her part, but one that may blow up in her face. In the hostile media environment she faces, she can ill afford to put herself, once again, at their mercy.

Sarah was going to be attacked by "hostile" types in and out of the media whether or not she stayed as Governor of Alaska. The attacks never abate completely, but they really intensify every time she appears on the national scene.

These people hate her and everything she represents. She is a threat to them.

There is a war against everything freedom loving Americans hold dear. I think Sarah has joined the battle to defend the country we were bequeathed by our Founders.

She can well expect enemy IEDs along her way. I don't think that will stop her. She has made it through refining fire already, and she has an opportunity now to connect with the American people on her own terms. And, does that scare "them"? You betcha.

"...Poor Dick! To have to sit there under his wife’s thumb all day and help her write books, when he’d rather be out in the world mixing it up in another campaign sucking toes."

Fixed it!

That would be awesome.

It seems that the conservatives like Cheney are starting to rise up and shout. We need statesmen and patriots.

Late this past week Rush made a comment that he was working on a “project” that he couldn’t say anything about right now. Did anybody else hear this?

I don't know if any of you are religious but I want to share something with all of you.

The Bible states that God requites us according to our works and several other verses similar to that. Look at what has happened:

Buckley begins the conservative movement->then the Civil Rights Era is written into law—> then the womens movement.

In 1994 the lifetime of works for conservatives was rewarded;we had our time of glory. Now, blacks like Jesse Jackson are getting their time before they begin dying off. I fully expect the next President to be a woman (strong and capable).

God does not pluck someone like Sarah from obscurity unless there is a purpose. I believe the 49th state will follow the 50th, and I believe Sarah is a person of destiny as Mr. Reagan was.
She will carry the torch and affirm the lifetime of work done by those who dedicated themselves to womans issues.

I say this even though I'm a bit of a chauvinist.

Thanks for listening(reading).

It’s a pretty short piece. Did you read it? Morris is not calling her a “freakin genius”. He’s saying that this decision may blow up in her face.

And if her goal is to run for president in 2012 he’s probably correct. But if her goal is to become an amazing foot-soldier in a war against the left and the media, then he is wrong.

If her goal is to campaign for others and to call the left and the media out on their relentless lies, then she did the exact correct thing.

But it won’t advance her own presidential ambitions, if she has any.

Right. At this point, the conservative movement needs an articulate spokesperson who can rally the troops. Sarah is that person. Now she is unleashed of the liabilities of elected office. She doesn't have to answer to lawyers and constituents any longer.

More than anything, dispirited conservatives need someone to give them hope and give them a voice. Just like Newt in 1994, Sarah can lead conservatives out of the wilderness.

Rush is getting ready to hand over the leadership of the GOP to Sarahcuda.

Rush once said, in reply to a caller, that a real political leader is not found by a party but steps up and identifies himself.
