1st, This women is a warrior, a basketball player, probably a chess player IMHO. This is move one. Move no 2?

New Party baby.

Why waste your time on the GOP that stabbed you in the back. What does she owe them? All the RINOS, Noonan, Bennett, Parker, Frum, Specter, and McCain etc that have thrown her overboard.

Visiting the Troops? How about 435+33 of them running as "Indies" in the 2010? Hey payback is a a you know what, and this women has been scorned. With GOP membership dropping some 27% from 38 to 28, how many disenfranchised Conservatives here would not dial the phones and go door to door until we are worn out to have a real CONSERVATIVE on any ticket. The way the GOP is going we aren't going to see that soon. My gut feel says she has something else up her sleeve like a new party, what say you....

Losing by 10 million votes, 7+ points, and more electoral votes than they carried proves you were wrong about her being McCain’s best shot.

We can hope. The republicans are spineless, and I see no benefit for her to run in a party that does not support her. If she forms a true conservative party, she could kill the republicans, and scare the **** out of the democrats.

CONSTITUTION Party, Sarah! You’re welcome aboard if you are sincere about governing accd. to the Original Intent of The Framers. I’d also be happy to see you join the Libertarian Party as well. The NeoCon GOP doesn’t deserve you & never did!

3rd parties have not worked since 1856. They are only a protest vote. I'm not interested in a suicide mission. Hell, Teddy Roosevelt couldn't do it. Ross Perot couldn't do it. George Wallace couldn't do it. The Libertarian Party, Constitution Party, and the Green parties couldn't do it.

It's either that we fix the GOP, or we get Obama for four more years, and Biden after that. That's the way it is.

She is the perfect person to start a second party that has a chance at winning.

She needs to stay and fight the Republican establishment.
But if she joins or creates a 3rd party I'll support her.

It probably is a good time to replace the Republican party, just like it replaced the Whigs. Over the last several years, the GOP has worked against its own basic principles and acted like a bunch of politicians who are interested in their own future more than service to the country.

So, what would be important for a new party of conservatives that could capture enough votes to become an actual replacement to one of the two existing parties? Here are my requirements:

1. Term limits. When politicians become lifers who are concerned about themselves more than their elected responsibilities, they become the same clowns we already have in office.

2. Fiscal responsibility. "Fiscal conservative" has been hijacked by lifer politicians and media types to mean "in favor of lower taxes". Fiscally responsible conservatives want to limit spending to expected tax revenues, and fiscally responsible liberals want to increase total tax revenues to meet desired spending levels. The two sides have to reach agreement and stop acting like the national debt is an imaginary number.

I'm sure everybody has their own version of what would be important to a new party. With the two things listed above, I can support a new party to replace the existing Republican party. Without them, a new party would just be more of the same.

Maybe she can go join up with that Keyes fellar and help him raise his new party to a percent or two.

IMHO, today, the GOP went from being the party of Sarah Palin to the party of Mehgan McCain. I’m outta there!

The Republican party needs to be transformed the way Reagan did in the ‘80’s. No third party ever worked - especially in conservatives favor (refer to 1992 Bush/Clintoon/Perot).

Sarah is positioning herself to be able to help other conservative candidates campaigning for House/Senate/Governors in 2010. She cannot tour the country and do this as Governor of Alaska. The DemonRATS will scrutinize every penny she spends (did it come from personal funds or Alaska taxpayer funds?). This is what she meant by “making a difference” in other ways than a state governor. It also allows her to have her voice heard in other venues besides the governors seat.

I think she is going to reinvigorate the Separatist movement in Alaska and secede from the Union :) Watch this movement sky rocket.

I think she has a high dollar contract as a commentator. It would allow her to present herself to the American people without the Drive-By media filter and put some money in the bank. Both increasing her viablility as a national politition.

If she goes third party, my estimation of her political skills will drop tremendiously. Third party is for making a point, not for winning. I have her pegged as a winner.

First of all, Bill Bennett is no RINO. Second of all, read my tagline.

Let's talk reality for a second. Although I sympathize and support your goals, let's look at history.

1) No independent party has won the White House in a century.

2) How long are you willing to be out of power to make an independent party viable? In 1994, the PCs were defeated in Canada. They have returned to power 12 years later as a minority party. The question to ask is: How much pain are you willing to endure for how long?

Don’t form a new party. Run as an Independent.
