You know, I’m coming away from the events of this day almost as excited as I was when it was announced that Palin was going to be the Vice-Presidential candidate.
It’s about possibilities. Without Palin, the Republicans have no charismatic leadership whatsoever.
Somebody else might emerge between now and 2012, but if Palin says she’s going to make a difference nationally, then based on her track record in Alaska, it would be unwise to doubt her.
Like it or not, she does things very much her own way. We need more people of principle in politics, not less.
Your screen name says it all. “A Douche Bag Fool”. Your opinion on a conservative forum means exactly “Mitt”.
The tea parties are calling her home.
My ES&D list is getting bigger each day.
MittFan
LOL at you people bashing Mitt. You’ll be pulling the lever for him in November 2012- wait and see.
I doubt it, and I also doubt you will be around FR to say much about it either...
Mitt could not even beat McCain with all the kings money and all the kings slimy men, who are even more reckless now in their attacks on Mitt’s foes.
“lying paid operative to say that—and I’ll bet your past and future posting history shows the latter.”
LOL- where’s my check? I’ve been posting on this board for years now, surely that should be worth some serious cash.
I think your screen name gives you away...
Tick tick tick...
You know, listening to the analysis one has to wonder how clueless can these people be? Does anyone really think she is quiting national politics?
Gee, why don’t you “true believer” Palin/Hunter conservatives just go kick out 2/3 of the Republican party? Look at the reaction from the National Review:
Palin Today [Rich Lowry]
I think I have pretty well-established credentials when it comes to being charmed by Sarah Palin, but that statement, as a statement, was simply terrible. Rambling and not at all persuasive as an argument for her decision. More Gibson/Couric than GOP convention speech. She shouldn’t have said a thing without getting Matt Scullyor some similarly talented speechwriteron the case first. As to how this decision plays out ultimately, we’ll see. There’s plenty of time if (as I assume) she wants to run in 2012, and she obviously has plenty of capital with Republicans. But not an auspicious start.
Palin Resigning [Jonah Goldberg]
Well, aside from my timing being impeccable, the best I can say is I’m flabbergasted.
Not running again could make sense as a pre-presidential move. Resigning strikes me as very strange. I do hope all is well with her family and that there’s the best possible reason for this fairly shocking news.
If You Can’t Stand the Cold, Get Out of Juneau [Rick Brookhiser]
As Cole Porter said, Sarah Palin’s got that thing, that special thing that makes the birdies forget to sing, yes she’s got that thingthat special thing.
Yet she also makes a more than normal share of misjudgments.
Are we to accept in an aspirant to the Oval Office cutting short her tour of duty in the Alaska statehouse?
Let me be a little more blunt. I'll shove my 12 gauge into my mouth and pull the trigger before I will pull the lever for another left wing Republican. That you can take to the bank, and I can promise you we have a zero suicide rate in my family. If Mitt has the GOP nomination then he better "Con" 50% of the Obama idiots from 2008 or he has no chance.

Just so theres no misunderstanding of my intent: FR will NOT be misused by the socialist Romneys takeover campaign. Keep posting your garbage propaganda, Ill keep telling the truth about his abortionist socialism!
Sooner or later, one of us is going to get tired and leave FR.

I would like some elaboration on this point, please.
All pundents, all in the DC class. Who cares what they think?
Look at the response on this board. That’s where her support comes from. You are an elitist.
