Well then, I guess ol’ George Washington was a quitter too! (Not!)He resigned his commission after the war, and went back home! Then, they practically had to twist his arms to come back into politics again!

He was getting tired of being away from home, but he did his duty as Pres. as best as he could, once he did win. He was a wonderful leader, considering that he wasn’t raised to be “king”, even if it was for just a 4 year term. He had no precedent. Once in the presidency, he apparently planned to resign, and let J. Adams take over! (that’s what I’d read once, anyway)

Of course, we all know he won, filled his term, then went on for another term. They had to twist his arms to run for that second term. He knew that politics was a cutthroat world anyway! If he had still been a young man, he would’ve relished it, he did initially! However, he was really tired and burnt out after that.

The way her personal finances & the finances of the state of Alaska were being bled dry is a good reason that she is stepping down. Shamefully some people who live in the state were among those doing it.

It's crazy to spend the rest of her time fighting them - to the detriment of her state. As long as she is the Governor - it will just continue & get even worse as election time draws closer.

I think she is very courageous & made a good decision. She does care about the state & Alaskans should be very proud that she served them well.
