She wasn’t ready, and not just in the stamina department. And having so many energetic conservatives insisting she was, made her a various dangerous distraction from the critically important business of trying to get Obama out of the White House in 2012.
Having her around, making noise, and being talked up as a 2012 POTUS candidate was advertising that the Republican Party would produce nothing but embarrassing chaos in the 2012 POTUS race, and that strengthens the Obama Administration right now. If he doesn’t need to worry about getting re-elected and Congress and the Senate are virtually certain they’ll be dealing with him as POTUS through 2016, it’s very hard to organize opposition to some of his very dangerous initiatives like the health care scheme. Start creating a plausible perception that he could be beaten in 2012, and he has to compromise a lot more, and Republicans in Congress and the Senate feel a lot safer opposing his initiatives, even when they’re popular with the socialist masses.
