In possible signal to Iran, Israel sends subs through Suez Canal
Jerusalem Post ^ | July 3, 2009 | YAAKOV KATZ

...IDF sources said the decision to allow navy vessels to sail through the canal was made recently and was a definite "change of policy"....The significance of the move was debatable, but it could be interpreted as a message to Iran and a demonstration of strengthening ties between Egypt and Israel.

In the event of a conflict with Iran, and if Israel decided to involve its three Dolphin-class submarines - which according to foreign reports can fire nuclear-tipped cruise missiles and serve as a second-strike platform - the quickest route would be to send them through the Suez Canal.

Oh please please please let it be.

Not only would it be good for Israel and shut down another tyrant, it would be such a bitch slap to Obammie the Commie I'd laugh for a week.

Interesting. Obama seems to lean toward the Shiite Muslims, even if he did bow low to the Saudi king. But the Sunni majority and the Arabs in general don’t necessarily want Iran and Syria to get any more threatening and destabilizing than they already are.

It would be amusing to see Obama allying with Iran and the Arabs covertly allying with Israel in response.

Israel is also solidifying relationships with Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, including maintaining facilities at a base in Kazakhstan that was used for space launches. The Iranians were going nuts about it and demanded that Kazakhstan not go forward with the agreement, but the agreement was signed anyway.

...it could be interpreted as a message to Iran and a demonstration of strengthening ties between Egypt and Israel.
It could also send a message that, "hey, a-holes, we have subs as well as nukes and missiles to deliver them."

The subs could be used to take out the radar stations so the jets can blow up the factories. They are an impressive system. They may well be placed there to keep an Iranian second strike from happening after they take out the Atomic plants.

I think it’s going to be a coordinated joint action, with or without an explicit green light from the UN. Of course, it could be just posturing.

It could be a bit of both. Good for Israel! If the hot heads in Iran want war—give it to them with all the horrors of war.

Israel will probably move these subs through the canal, wait a bit, and bring back all of them except one. :’) That’ll give the Iranians something to rant and rave about. The key to a successful strike on Iran will be, to pick the moment the regime has one of its huge “spontaneous” rallies, and wipe everyone ranting and raving right off the map. Ideally, it would follow a covert takeover of Iranian TV, so that everyone in Iran who stays home sees what happened immediately, and knows that, at last, “it’s on”.
