Krauthammer: Palin isn’t a serious candidate for president
Hot Air ^ | July 01, 2009 | ALLAHPUNDIT

Oh yes, he went there. We’ve been having a running debate on Twitter this afternoon about Sarahcuda and my contention that criticism of her is verboten among righty blog readers, HA’s included. This thread will be an interesting test case. Most of the heat Kraut takes will be for his contention that “You cannot sustain a campaign of platitudes and clichés over a year and a half if you’re running for the presidency.” Didn’t Captain Hopenchange do exactly that? Well, yes and no. Granted, the most memorable line he uttered in 18 months on the trail was “Yes we can,” but he’s done countless policy interviews, debated Hillary 20 times and McCain three, and held numerous press conferences. The TOTUS jokes are fun but The One’s perfectly capable of straying off script when need be. Is Palin? She seems at ease when discussing energy or life issues but the jury’s still out on most everything else, which is why Kraut feels comfortable asserting that she hasn’t (yet) brushed up on national policy the way we all thought she would.

...and all the idle speculation is just a waste of time.

Unless you're out to discredit a threat to your RINO clients.

After Obama, Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Goofy, Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, and Alfred E. Neuman are qualified to be president.

And ESPECIALLY Wile E. Coyote.

Even thought Reagan himself said that progress comes in small increments .. slowly through compromise.

Not that I would call Obama's steamroller methods progress, but he certainly belies that statement.

What are you talking about?

Huh? I used simple words, because I am simple minded. Did some of them have too many syllables?

If she is going to get my vote, she needs to show me something IRT foreign policy.

So, if she wins the primary, you will vote to retain the man with experience?

She isn't on the "inside" of Politics. She's "clean" and not stained by Bilderberg, the Federal Reserve aka Central Bank, ACORN, so OF COURSE 'they' hate her. Anchorage newspaper is run by former Californians. The real Alaskans love her.

We love her. She's a breath of fresh air. She speaks what she knows. She hasn't folded after all the press and blogger attacks. And all the lawsuits brought against her by petty Democrats have been dismissed.

And the obligatory photo:

And a PS: People who know Michele Bachmann love her, too. I've corresponded with some and they say she's the real deal. And some don't like her because of that.

Her astonishing rise up from the grass-roots, her total lack of self-importance, and her ordinary American values and modest lifestyle reveal her to be the kind of hard-working, optimistic, ordinary American who made this country the greatest, most powerful nation on the face of the earth.

As hard as you might try, you won’t find that kind of plain-spoken, down-to-earth, self-reliant American in the upper ranks of the liberal-infested, elitist Democratic Party, or in the Obama campaign.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Sarah Palin:
General, I have worked very hard to get where I have gotten.
Small town Mayor, Gov of the largest State, ect.
Therefore I expect you to address me as Sarah or Cuda ...
Please continue with your testimony... (/Sarc Off)

I’m certain she has the brains to do so prior to the campaign, but she needs to begin to do so now.
********

Thanks to the Washington establishment we’re $12 Trillion in debt; how the hell can Sarah do worse?

Care to back up your assertion with examples and facts?

Yes. Those interviews she did were absolutely agonizing. She is a pit bull at heart, like Ann, but did not have the facts to go in and eviscerate her attackers as Ann would have/could have done.

Make no mistake, I don't question Palin's intelligence, competence, talent, or ability to lead us through a crisis. I just want her to be a honed damascene blade before she takes on the armies of the Left and their slaves, the mass media.

Charles completely blows his credibility—and betrays his motivation—by singing the praises of Romney as a candidate. Blech!

Somebody said Charles sees her negatively because she won’t kill zygotes.

There may be some truth in that.
BTW: What does Romney stand for that excites Charles?

The way that Obama is strangling the private sector, Unemployment above 7% is a given. At 7% he will be lauded as the savior of the world. I think it is safe to assume that Unemployment at or near double digits is a certainty. It is virtually impossible for businesses to hire in the unpredictable climate that Obama is foisting upon the business sector.

Krauthammer doesn’t like pro-lifers.

There’s not really much more to this than that.

Definitely not. For me, the Republican primary is the main event. If Palin wins the primary, I will do whatever it takes to get her in office. But, by her winning the primary, I would have to believe she is going to come into it very polished, with a sound campaign strategy, and money to boot. Money has never been an issue for her, and I think she is a great campaigner. The polish is where she needs to focus, but I think she can make that happen, if she makes up her mind and does what it takes.

Trust me, I would write in itsahoot, before I vote for what we have now.

The standard ‘neocon’ profile is conservative on defense more than anything else, so tends to support a technocrat governmental elite rather than having a Jeffersonian trust in a small government that largely leaves people to themselves. I think Charles may be such a Beltway neocon.
