Those mentioning how difficult it is to amend the Constitution are correct. However, when you ignore the Constitution and gather all the reins of govt. into the Executive, what the Constitution says does not matter.
vaudine
House: 2/3rds Democrat.
Senate: even split, subject to high-stakes payoffs buying another 17 votes (”ya wanna split $1T in pork?”).
States: 56% voted BHO; hard sell via MSM buys another 10.
Not a given, but hardly unreasonable.
We won’t need a new President in 2016, we’ll be governed by the the New World Order and the UN. Barrack will be on the Board of course.
We won’t be under 0bama rule when those who are using him now no longer need him.
It only need succeed once.
Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Thanks - I’m thinking passing another amendment - not repealing an existing one. That would do the trick for BHO. I still don’t think the states would go for it.
“We wont be under 0bama rule when those who are using him now no longer need him.”
That’s my point.
if his approval numbers are where I think they’ll be by next Valentines Day I don’t think we’ll have any worries about a third term.
However if he does try to pull this crap, people will rise up and resist. It will get very ugly.
They do not have a 2/3rds majority. And they also would need 3/4s of the state legislatures to ratify the amendment.
Ain't happening. Shall we stick with the more pressing, real issues, such as cap-and-trade and health care deform?
I’m sorry, I just don’t believe this. The exact thing was said of Bush, right down to the wording! “Shredding the constitution”, “sabotaging the economy”, etc. Remember, Bush is supposed to still be in office. Hell, I remember people saying CLINTON would never vacate peacefully! Okay, so they made off with the good silver, they still left. This country is not one that will do well with a long-term head of state, it smacks of kingship. Yes, I know, Obama is virtually the royal family, but only in a symbolic fashion. Right now, he’d best worry about his second term, rather than his third, because the way he’s going, he’s going to need new digs in 2012. I hear apartments in Detroit are going for cheap.
Ad-hominem attacks aside, is there anything factually wrong with what I posted? The House has a supermajority, the Senate is close enough to be bought off, and HJ 5 to repeal the 22ndA has been introduced. There IS a growing movement to repeal it, and an attractive candidate is present to make the sale.
I don’t think those facts amount to koolaid and gamma rays. What, factually, is wrong with the point?
That's the bottom line. When the legislature and courts are corrupt enough, it's easy to just ignore the constitution. This has already been done a number of times.
Those who are being critical of Rush, should note that this is exactly what was attempted in Honduras, and Obama came down on the side of the President who tried to violate the Honduran Constitution to stay in office
I don’t think they’ll bother with Constitutional trappings...
they’ll just do it and dare us to do anything about it.
We will.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the balls Rush has shown recently.
Stating what we all know - that 0bama’s policies are nothing but de facto reparations.
That 0bama intends on staying in office regardless of the law.
What next? Calling for secession?
Thank for the correction - I knew it was a president before I was born... (Eisenhower was sitting then.)
Or a second one.
