I’ll go along with you on Washington, but Lincoln was a fed tyrant if there ever was one. He is one of the main figures responsible for the increase in federal power.

I’ve often thought that if the founding fathers could have known what the US would become, they wouldn’t have bothered to start the fight.

I’ve been telling my kids since birth that Lincoln was the worst Predident in history. The civil war was the first federal power grab, plain and simple and our country was decimated in the process. How in anyones mind could this man be considered great?

Couldn't disagree more. I think they would be amazed at how well the little project in self government turned out. I also think given some acclimation time they would point to the problem areas that need correction quite easily.
