Lemme get this straight - California has term limits, and still a legislator can characterize "petition[ing] the government for a redress of grievances" as a "terrorist threat" (comparable to ACORN's bussing in people to openly case your house and neighborhood if Obama fingers you as "greedy") to the "career" of a legislator!I think the next step after term limits is a minimum age requirement for politicians - say, about 45 years. That way nobody could get into office without having already had a career.
They love to call it "public service," while they actually treat it as a business opportunity.
