Had he not been driven – by a cabal of bankers, agents, doctors and advisers – to commit to the gruelling 50 concerts in London’s O2 Arena, I believe he would still be alive today.

On the other hand, if he would've just manned up and said, "NO!", he might also still be alive today.

I think his defining characteristic (other than his talent) was being weak-willed. He definitely was not strong or secure enough to be in show business.

I get the impression he surrounded himself with users and allowed them to allow him to run himself into the ground. Its hard to say how much was what he did vs what was egged on by the people around him.

You know I think he had a very flawed character but it is sad. When you see those pics of him before fame got to him you can’t help but feel sad for his horrible bizarro life.

He would have been better off doing anything but show business. If it’s true his parents pushed him into it unmercifully I hope they feel guilty.
